Middle School Science Instructor
Instructs middle school students in science. May be designated according to subject matter/content specialty. Utilizes current strategies and theories to plan and implement lessons. This position reports to the principal.
Key responsibilities include instructing students, assigning lessons and correcting homework, administering tests, maintaining discipline in the classroom, supervising behavior outside the classroom, preparing course outlines and objectives, conducting parent/teacher conferences, and participating in faculty and professional meetings.
Key job requirements include a bachelor's degree or higher, minimum of one year of teaching experience preferred, making recommendations and/or decisions which usually affect the entire school, certification by the state of Georgia in education T-4 to T-7 and content area specialization as required by the GaPSC, and normal classroom/school setting. Must be able to stand and walk approximately seven to seven and one-half hours per day.
Light duty - on most occasions sitting at a desk or table; intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. Light lifting or carrying; twenty lbs. or less.
