SUMMARY:The Capital Projects Area Sales Manager is responsible for accelerating market penetration of Camfil's engineered solutions across a designated geographic territory. This role focuses on developing strong relationships with Engineering Firms (A&E), End Users, OEM partners, and Cleanroom/Containment contractors to position Camfil as the basis‑of‑design (BOD) for all applicable product categories. This position requires technical aptitude, commercial strategy, and the ability to influence long‑cycle capital project decisions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:In addition to those listed in the Summary section above, the following are duties necessary for the position. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Convert Key Engineering Firms to Camfil BOD- Identify, target, and convert strategic engineering firms to specify Camfil as BOD across all relevant Capital Projects product lines.
- Deliver technical presentations, design reviews, and specification support aligned with Camfil standards.
- Coordinate with Sales Engineering to ensure accurate technical documentation, drawings, and specification packages.
- Build consultative relationships with facility owners, engineering managers, EHS teams, quality leaders, and capital equipment decision‑makers.
- Influence early project planning and conceptual design phases to preference Camfil solutions.
- Assess customer operational, regulatory, and contamination‑control needs and align them with Camfil technologies.
- Lead and grow relationships with cleanroom contractors and OEM partners in Life Sciences and High‑Tech markets.
- Support project pursuits from concept through bid, submittal, award, manufacturing, and installation coordination.
- Maintain account plans, forecast activity, and drive multi‑site/multi‑project opportunities.
- Maintain expert knowledge of Capital Projects product lines and technical applications.
- Track activity and opportunities in CRM and adhere to standard Camfil reporting practices.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Branch Management, Sales Engineering, Operations, Marketing, and other ASMs.
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and technical forums to enhance Camfil visibility.
- Deliver quarterly business reviews, project pipelines, and strategic updates to leadership.
- 5+ years of experience in capital equipment, engineered systems, or technical solution sales—preferably in filtration, HVAC, Life Sciences, Microelectronics, or cleanroom construction.
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% throughout the Western USA.
- Strong understanding of capital project cycles (concept → design → bid → construction → commissioning).
- Proven ability to influence specifications and manage long sales cycles.
- Technical proficiency with drawings, specifications, and engineered product selections.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills.
- Self‑driven and strategic, comfortable managing a multi‑state territory.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to office, customer facility, manufacturing plant, and industrial environments. Certain settings may require the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Must be able to access and navigate customer sites and related project environments.
