Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - NIGHT

Overview

We are seeking Registered Nurses to provide care to our patients here at Riverwoods Behavioral Health. The RN team focuses on supporting patients and each other, striving for quality outcomes.

Shift & Hours
  • Full time – Day Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
  • Full time – Night Shift: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
Compensation & Incentives
  • $2,500 for full‑time day nurses.

Essential Functions
  • Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans.
  • Maintain medical records and educate patients and families.
  • Provide nursing care within the scope of state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies.
  • Ensure physicians’ orders are clear and transcribed appropriately.
  • Assess patients’ status continuously and document pertinent information.
  • Notify physicians of significant status changes.
  • Complete initial nursing treatment plans upon admission.
  • Apply universal precautions during direct patient care.
  • Administer medications accurately.
  • Document controlled substance medication administration.
  • Process admission and discharge efficiently.
  • Maintain therapeutic rapport with patients, respecting professional boundaries.
  • Coordinate or direct unit activities as directed.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, visitors, co‑workers, and others involved in inpatient treatment.
Qualifications
  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
  • At least two years of nursing experience; experience in psychiatric, mental, behavioral, or substance abuse is a plus.
  • CPR and de‑escalation and restraint certification required; training provided upon hire.
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
