Job Summary
Full‑time Night shift (7 pm‑7 am) RN Clinical Nurse. A proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers ensuring patients, families and significant others receive individualized high‑quality, safe patient care under Wellstar’s Shared Governance, Professional Practice, and Evidence‑Based Practice models. All RN Clinical Nurses must hold a valid nursing license, comply with the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, and uphold the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics.
CoreResponsibilities and Essential Functions
- Exemplary Practice and Outcomes
- Performs the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, evaluation) using evidence‑based practice, analytical/critical thinking, and individualized care coordination through effective partnerships.
- Provides relationship‑based, patient‑centered care sensitive to population characteristics (age, gender, disease, etc.) and adapts service delivery to cultural diversity.
- Partners with patients and significant others via bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, just‑in‑time and planned teaching, keeping patient goals at the focus of care plans.
- Practices current clinical standards.
- Teamwork and Collaboration
- Coordinates delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care, promoting inclusive interdisciplinary communication.
- Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and supports recruitment, retention, and professional development of team members.
- Participates in performance improvement, research utilization, and shared governance at all system levels.
- Professional Development and Initiative
- Completes initial and ongoing competency assessments and mandatory education, including population‑specific education.
- Serves as preceptor/mentor for professional nurses and staff students of all disciplines, modeling professional practice and fostering a healthy work environment.
- Evidence‑Based Practice and Research
- Promotes evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement activities.
- Upholds system policies, legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards, including Joint Commission Patient Safety Goals.
- Collects data, poses relevant clinical questions, consults experts, and utilizes evidence to address practice questions.
- Resources and Support
- Plans patient care across the continuum during direct patient care.
- Develops protocols and procedures in collaboration with care managers to achieve best practice outcomes.
- Supports efficient use of human and material resources.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Minimum Education
Associate’s degree in Nursing (Associate of Science in Nursing), Diploma in Nursing, or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (Preferred).
Required Minimum Licenses and CertificationsRN - Registered Nurse (single state) or RN‑COMPACT (multi‑state Compact). BLS or ARC‑BLS, or BLS‑I instructor certification required upon hire.
Required Minimum ExperienceLess than 1 year of direct patient care experience; completion of accredited/approved nursing school with requisite clinical hours.
