Personal Financial Counselor - Hill AFB, UT

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial counseling services at assigned military installations, including one‑on‑one counseling, briefings, presentations, and referral resources.
• Consult with installation and military branch Points of Contact to ensure services remain within scope and meet installation needs.
• Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences and develop informational financial materials.
• Coordinate, publicize, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes/workshops on a variety of topics across the military lifecycle.
• Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling or electronic communication methods such as web‑based chat, secure online chat, or video‑teleconference; virtual PFC support authorized only by OSD FINRED Program office.
• Manage duty‑to‑warn situations per Department of Defense protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and participate in supervision, sharing trends and issues.
• Participate in regular in‑services, trainings, quality improvement committees, and other contract activities as assigned.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree required; an associate degree plus 4 years of experience, or a high school diploma plus 6 years of experience, may be considered.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizen with fluent English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract.
• Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier2 investigation.
• Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI).
• Must hold one of the following certifications:
  Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Salary range: $58,440–$93,500 (base salary, may vary by location and qualifications).
