Overview
Our customer is the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and acts as the provider of GIG/Defense Information System Network (DISN) services to its customers, the Department of Defense (DoD) and national security organizations. This position directly supports the DISA-provided GIG capabilities and services in the 24x7 DISA Global Operations Center (DGOC). The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector and Global Solutions Management-Operations II (GSMO-II) have an opening in our Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS) NOC for a JRSS NOC Technician at Scott AFB, IL.
US Citizenship is required along with a current DoD Secret Clearance.
- Execute network operations to include analysis of customer traffic across the MPLS and JRSS infrastructure.
- Perform real-time customer failover to restore services during scheduled and unscheduled outages and maintenance actions.
- Work directly with supported customers and peers to ensure maximum network availability to minimize or eliminate mission and operational impact.
- Proactively monitor network alarms across platform specific network management tools.
- Perform a variety of change management tasks which include hardware replacement, software configurations, and ASI management.
- Utilize incident management applications to document all aspects of reported outages/degradations, isolations, escalations, and resolutions during the lifecycle of a service impacting network incident.
- Assess and identify resolutions to various network incidents and/or deficiencies leveraging knowledge in one or more of the following: routers, switches, routing protocols, MPLS, VPN technologies, IDS/IPS, proxies, packet capture, network taps, load balancing, firewalls, out-of-band management.
- Must have DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE, or equivalent) at start date.
- High school and 2-4 years of experience.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 operation.
- Experience with one or more of the following: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management.
- Expertise in one or more of the following: routers, switches, routing protocols, CISCO, Juniper, MPLS.
- General understanding of network topologies.
- Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance.
- Tech control facility or cyber transport experience
- Circuit actions and vendor experience
- IP architecture experience
- Telco NOC, inside or outside plant experience
- Experience with MS Office suite, i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Teams
- Experience with one or more of the following: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management, change management
- Any additional certifications to include: CCNA, JNCIA-Junos, F5 Networks Certified Technical Specialist, ITILv4
