Job Description

Position Summary: The Staff Accountant will work under the supervision of the Controller. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting with the financial reporting, all daily, monthly, quarter end accounting activities including accounts payable/receivable, performing general ledger analysis, cash management, cash, assisting with preparing financial items, and analyzing monthly and year-end budget variances. Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports, analysis, and planning.

Working Relationships: Work directly with the Controller, and in collaboration with the RCHF/CSA staff, external auditors, and regulatory agencies.

Position Responsibilities
  • Uphold and support the mission, philosophy, objectives, policies, and ethics of RCHF and CSA.
  • Supports with the management of all general ledger and subsidiary journals, including cash and credit card receipts, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, revenue releases, payroll accounts, cash flow forecasting, grants administration and reporting.
  • Responsible for the completion of all accounts payable activities, including entries, invoicing, verification of purchase requests/receipts, and issuing checks.
  • Reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger on frequent basis monthly / quarterly.
  • Process cash disbursements on the 1st and 15th of each month.
  • Manage the purchase request process for the organization.
  • Process general ledger transactions and post entries.
  • Reconcile all credit card purchases to monthly statements.
  • Perform all cash account reconciliations for all relevant bank accounts.
  • Support with the management of all annual reporting requirements.
  • Assist Controller in the annual budgeting process.
  • Assist in the annual financial and any other audits as required.
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Make cash deposits as needed.
  • Manage all vendor relationships and resolution of billing issues.
  • Provides RCHF/CSA staff training on accounting procedures/updates.
  • Process 1099 forms and other forms relevant to the organization.
  • Develop and update annual program and individual work plan/scope of work for Accounting Department.
  • Other duties assigned by Controller.
  • Minimum Qualifications

    Education: A possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.

    Experience: Minimum of five years of accounting experience; education may be substituted for additional experience. 10 plus years of accounting experience may substitute for Bachelors degree requirements.

    • Ability to sit/stand for 2-5 hours, walk, bend/stoop, and twist/turn for up to 2-3 hours.
    • Ability to stand up/lift, lift and carry, lifts overhead, and push/pull up to 10lbs.
