We are a well-established CPA firm seeking an Accounting Manager to specialize in client accounting, including full-charge bookkeeping, trial balances, payroll, KPI reporting, and related tasks. Responsibilities- Oversee engagement teams on multiple client accounts, ensuring work is performed in adherence to engagement scope.
- Maintain bank, vendor, and payroll records for the client.
- Prepare month or period-end packages under accrual (US GAAP or IFRS) or cash basis accounting.
- Assist clients with budgets, forecasts, and projections.
- Build, prepare, or analyze dashboards and KPI metrics for the client.
- Ensure all client timelines are met and clear communications exist between the client and engagement team.
- Interact with clients on a frequent basis (daily, weekly, or monthly) as required, delegating appropriately.
- Ensure all team members adhere to engagement budgets; minimize and analyze any overruns.
- Invoice clients at least monthly and follow up on aged accounts receivable balances.
- Conduct team training and business-development activities, including travel to other firm locations or networking events.
- Minimum of 7-10 years' experience in accounting, with recent time as an account manager or equivalent in industry finance or public accounting.
- Proven thorough understanding of double-entry accounting and demonstrated performance of accounting tasks, including transaction processing and records maintenance.
- Demonstrated understanding of U.S. GAAP and sufficient working knowledge of taxation matters, including individual, corporate, sales, and property & business taxes.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, ideally in accounting or a related field.
- Excellent communication skills (reading, writing, speaking) with business-level fluency in English.
- Willingness to travel to client or firm office locations, as necessary.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel; knowledge of at least one accounting software program such as Quick Books Online.
- Self-starter with proven ability to identify issues and recommend solutions; works well within a team as well as independently.
- Occasional overtime work required throughout the year.
- Knowledge of or experience with additional accounting software such as Xero, Intacct, Net Suite, , or Concur.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish or advantage of a second language.
- Specialized accounting knowledge in a particular industry or accounting area.
- Current and valid CPA license, or equivalent.
