Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for a Bookkeeper to join a team in Riverside, California on a Contract basis. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, comfortable working with financial data, and confident using Excel to support accurate accounting records and reporting. The position will contribute to daily bookkeeping activities, help maintain balanced accounts, and provide timely financial information that supports business operations.

Responsibilities:

- Record financial activity accurately in the general ledger and keep bookkeeping records current and well organized.

- Handle invoice processing, payment tracking, and collections support across both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

- Reconcile bank statements and other account balances to confirm accuracy and resolve variances promptly.

- Assist with period-end accounting tasks, including preparing supporting schedules and contributing to financial report completion.

- Maintain payroll-related documentation and provide administrative support for payroll processing activities.

- Build, update, and review Excel spreadsheets to analyze transactions, monitor trends, and produce useful financial summaries.

- Investigate discrepancies in accounting records and take appropriate steps to correct issues in a timely manner.

- Help uphold internal accounting procedures by maintaining documentation and supporting control-focused processes. Requirements - At least 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or a closely related accounting position.

- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, lookup functions, and structured data management.

- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation activities.

- Familiarity with Quick Books and confidence navigating day-to-day bookkeeping tasks within the system.

- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy while managing multiple financial records and deadlines.

- Solid understanding of core accounting practices and financial documentation standards.
