Position: Court Reporter - Intermittent (Desert Only: Blythe, Indio, and Palm Springs)

We have an opportunity for a Court Reporter. We are seeking qualified individuals responsible to provide court reporting services using traditional stenographic or voice writing equipment within assigned courtrooms or other court proceedings. The ideal candidate shall possess a current Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR) certificate issued by the Court Reporters' Board of California, possess real-time skills and report court proceedings at a rate of 200 words per minute.

Human Resources will review applications to identify candidates who meet the minimum qualifications; therefore, it is to your benefit to include all current and previous related work experience. Selection Procedures
  • Step I:
    All applications will be reviewed to identify candidates who meet the minimum qualifications; those qualified candidates will be referred to step II in the selection process.
  • Step II:
    All applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be reviewed by the Subject Matter Expert(s). Successful candidates may be invited to participate in the next step of the examination process.
  • Step III:
    Those candidates that are successful in the previous step may be invited to an oral interview either in person or virtually using Zoom. Those candidates who are successful in the interview (weighted 100%) may be placed on the eligible list. Placement on the eligible list is not a guarantee of employment.
  • Additional steps for the selection process will include a drug test, background and reference checks.

    SICK LEAVE

    There are 40 hours of sick leave available for use after 90 days of employment. Sick leave hours expire at the end of each calendar year. Sick leave hours renew at the beginning of each calendar year.
