Coach, Recruit, and Provide Operational Support to the Men’s Basketball Program
Coach, recruit, and provide operational support to the Men’s Basketball program. This position will be the liaison and campus contact for Men’s Basketball.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Understand and agree to abide by the mission of CBU and the CBU Athletics Department.
- Assist with coaching at practice and during games.
- Coordinate with other departments to facilitate player recruitment and other player‑related concerns.
- Create and manage recruiting mail‑outs and contacts.
- Assist the head coach in organizing practice and game schedules.
- Assist in managing scholarship requests and other required institutional and NCAA forms through the university’s compliance software.
- Assist in the management of class schedules, book vouchers, and academic progress for student‑athletes.
- Organize and arrange all team travel, including managing budget and credit card reconciliations.
- Organize and account for all team equipment, including ordering, checking out, and storage.
- Manage social media sites, coordinate community service events, and be a coordinator for summer camp.
- Serve as facilities liaison and work with Events Center Facilities Director on Men’s Basketball team and visiting team needs.
- Participate in the organization and execution of basketball practices, scouting reports, individual workouts, and breakdown film from our own team.
- Adhere to all conference and NCAA rules, including passing the annual NCAA recruiting test.
- Attend all department compliance meetings.
- Responsible for assigning work and/or giving direction to part‑time student workers to complete office work assignments.

- Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues.
- Proficiency in Business English, arithmetic, and general office methods, procedures and practices.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects.
- Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position.
- Ability to gather data, compile information, prepare reports, and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.
- Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
- Excellent telephone courtesy and experience.
- Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events.
- Knowledge of standard budgeting and expenditure control procedures and documentation.
- Ability to develop and maintain record‑keeping systems and procedures.
- Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
- Ability to travel, including domestic/international air travel, and work nights and weekends.
The employee must regularly stand, walk, sit, and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard and other office equipment. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities. The employee may occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds.
Work EnvironmentThe work is performed in a typical interior/office environment with moderate noise. Minimal exposure to health or safety hazards.
Education and/or ExperienceBachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university and a minimum of two years of coaching experience at the NCAA Division I level; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
