Reports To:
Service Manager / Shop Foreman Position Summary The Lube Technician is responsible for performing routine vehicle maintenance services in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. This position assists in maintaining customer vehicles by performing oil changes, tire rotations, multi-point inspections, fluid checks, and other basic maintenance services while ensuring compliance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
The Lube Technician plays a critical role in delivering excellent customer service by helping ensure vehicles are serviced correctly and returned to customers in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform oil and filter changes according to manufacturer specifications.
Perform tire rotations and tire pressure checks.
Conduct multi-point vehicle inspections and report findings to service advisors and management.
Check and replenish vehicle fluids, including engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, windshield washer fluid, and transmission fluid as applicable.
Replace air filters, cabin filters, windshield wipers, and other maintenance-related components.
Inspect belts, hoses, batteries, lights, and other vehicle systems for wear or damage.
Maintain accurate repair orders and document services performed.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with manufacturer, dealership, and safety standards.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including service bays and shop equipment.
Properly operate dealership equipment, tools, lifts, and machinery.
Follow all environmental and hazardous waste disposal procedures.
Assist technicians and other service personnel as directed.
Participate in dealership and manufacturer training programs.
Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
Provide professional and courteous interactions with customers and coworkers.
Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and more with assistance.
Ability to work in varying temperatures and shop conditions.
Ability to safely operate vehicles with a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Ability to work around moving vehicles, machinery, chemicals, and shop equipment.
Ability to maintain alertness and awareness in an active automotive service environment.
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous automotive maintenance experience preferred but not required.
Basic automotive knowledge and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
