Job Summary

This position is unique as it requires travel with our large loss construction team throughout the United States. The Sr. Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the work of several technicians as well as simultaneously managing the production of multiple construction (repair) projects that are generally outsourced to subcontractors. This position is responsible for taking the lead in collaborating with subcontractors in determining scope of work and price negotiations.

The Sr. Superintendent reports directly to the Branch Manager or Regional Operations Manager and interfaces regularly with other departments as required.

Key Responsibilities

Core responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborates and communicate effectively with adjusters, customers, co-workers and contractors – articulating scope of work, expectations, timelines.
  • Responsible for negotiating pricing, confer and obtain approval to proceed from Branch Manager, National Operations Manager, and/or Regional Operations Manager.
  • Create cost estimates for supplies, materials and other project costs.
  • Provides scope and direction of work performed by subcontractors to ensure work performed as agreed to and to customer satisfaction.
  • Recommend and implement changes in the operation of projects as necessary to meet construction budgets and deadlines.
  • Coordinate the delivery of materials and equipment with suppliers and vendors.
  • Develop means of tracking and monitoring subcontractor work; follow-up regularly and update job records.
  • Provides Project Managers or Project Directors budgets and schedules for repair projects prior to commencement of work.
  • Reviews all project related documents and work orders and ensures delivery to appropriate parties in order to bill in a timely manner.
  • Manages and maintains job budgets and schedules.
  • Creates and maintains schedule for subcontractors performing work on the jobs assigned.
  • Evaluates subcontractor performance, report deficiencies, and addresses corrective actions.
  • Ensures Construction Superintendent obtains necessary permits or city licenses through local agencies as necessary.
  • Reviews and approves paperwork and billing promptly.
  • Provide regular reporting to management on job site operations (schedules, performance, personnel).
  • Support the Company’s safe workplace policies and practices and promotes adherence.

Experience/ Requirements

The position of Sr. Construction Superintendent requires the following:

  • Experience in commercial construction performing supervisory or superintendent duties, specific to construction and/or restoration/mitigation loss.
  • Hands‑on experience in defining project budgets, including tracking/monitoring and reporting.
  • Requires a Valid Driver’s License, with driving record in good standing.
  • Industry related certifications are a plus.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining strong customer relations, building on company reputation.
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) at all levels
  • Possess excellent time management skills, can set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Computer experience in MS Outlook and other programs, can produce basic excel and word documents. (Xactimate is a plus)
