Note:
This position is not grant funded.
- Responsible for photography duties and general operations of the District's photography studio; captures photos for marketing and communications materials; edits, distributes, and archives images.
- Capture photographs in studio and field across assignments including environmental portraiture, architecture, classrooms, athletic events, student life, and District events; produce high-end print and digital materials.
- Import, manipulate, and prepare images for graphics production; perform photo restoration; oversee cataloging of images for archival purposes; manage digital asset links.
- Schedule photo assignments; coordinate conceptual shoots with District staff; collaborate with technology staff on software updates and with District graphic artists on shoot concepts.
- Coordinate with supervisor to request and schedule outside freelance photographers or videographers as needed; may capture video in the field when required.
- Maintain and organize photography studio and equipment; participate in District-provided in-service training.
- Perform other related duties as assigned; duties not listed may be included if related to the classification and work.
- Education:
An associate's degree with coursework in photography or related field, and three (3) years of professional photography experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience. - Experience/Knowledge:
Digital and news photography, photo editing, advanced studio portraiture, photo restoration techniques, copyright laws, lighting techniques, digital asset management, media and marketing principles related to photography, standard photographic software, operation of diverse cameras and equipment, and website content management for digital materials. - Ability:
Schedule and determine techniques for assignments; perform photo editing and restoration; select appropriate equipment; demonstrate attention to detail; oversee image cataloging for archival purposes; collaborate with designers on shoots; organize work, meet deadlines, and exercise independent judgment; communicate clearly; build effective working relationships; show sensitivity to diverse backgrounds; provide high-level customer service; and utilize computer systems and software relevant to the role.
A valid driver's license and proof of insurability may be required to drive a District or personal vehicle.
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions- Must be able to work in a standard office setting and in the field; mobility to operate photography equipment; ability to lift up to 20 pounds; exposure to both studio and field environments.
- Work may involve evenings and/or weekends; job duties may require travel to multiple District sites.
- Photograph in studio and on location across varied assignments; produce images suitable for print and digital collateral.
- Import and edit photos, perform photo restoration, manage image archival and digital asset management.
- Plan shoots with District staff, coordinate with technology and design teams, and support print, web, and multimedia projects.
- Arrange for outside photographers/videographers as needed; assist with field video capture when required.
- Maintain studio cleanliness and equipment; participate in trainings.

Grade J, with steps; new employees typically placed on Step 1; step changes occur according to district policy. - Holidays: 13 holidays observed per year; pro-rata for part-time/less-than-full-time employees.
