Job Type: 6 month contract with potential to extend

Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring a Buyer for a manufacturing company in a hands-on, blue-collar production environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being out on the shop floor, collaborating cross-functionally, and taking ownership of supplier performance and sourcing decisions. If you’re highly skilled in Excel, comfortable working in a casual factory setting, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this could be a great next step in your career.

• Manage supplier performance related to quality, delivery, cost, and capability
• Prepare and solicit RFQs and proposals; conduct make-vs-buy analyses
• Negotiate pricing, lead cost-reduction initiatives, and manage total acquisition cost
• Support new product development from concept through production, including supplier selection
• Collaborate with engineering and suppliers on design changes, new component releases, and technical improvements
• Monitor supplier capacity, lead times, and on-time delivery to support production schedules
• Lead supplier negotiations, issue resolution, and corrective action plans

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a technical field preferred
• 4+ years of purchasing, sourcing, planning, or buyer experience in a manufacturing environment
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUPs required)
• Production or manufacturing background strongly preferred
• Experience with Business Central, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems a plus
• Strong negotiation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
