Position SummaryThe Annie Gabriel Library at California Baptist University seeks an innovative, collaborative, service-oriented librarian to manage the library's instructional services programs. The successful candidate will be able to work as part of a team of librarians providing student learning-centered instruction and research assistance to CBU students in both class settings and individually, using current instructional methods and technologies. Primary duties include coordinating the library's information literacy and librarian liaison programs, providing specialized research and instructional assistance for graduate students, evaluating current and emerging trends and technologies as they relate to instructional services and research assistance in the academic library environment, and managing the library's subject research guides.
The position requires coordinating and executing the library's long-term instructional services strategy in support of the library's overall mission to serve the research and information needs of CBU in a rapidly evolving information landscape. This is a full‑time, 12‑month faculty position, and an MLIS or equivalent degree from an ALA accredited institution must either be held or in‑progress.
The compensation for this appointment will range from $75,000-$90,000 annually and reflects what California Baptist University reasonably expects to pay for this faculty appointment. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of employee benefits.
Qualifications- Required:
Either an ALA-accredited MLIS or equivalent degree, or current enrollment in an MLIS program. - Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A strong service orientation.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
- Preferred:
Experience providing research and information literacy instruction in the library context.
