- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an EX endorsement
- A minimum of 7 years of successful teaching experience, with a minimum of three years as a classroom teacher at the middle school level
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of best practices in mathematics and assessment
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build relationships with colleagues
- Proven leadership experience at a building level preferred.
- Proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively with colleagues, including the ability to create and nurture a professional community of adult learners.
- Strong pedagogical knowledge and content expertise.
- Demonstrated expertise in oral and written communication.
- Demonstrated teacher leadership.
To provide instructional coaching for classroom teachers by implementing research-based practices for the purpose of improving student achievement for all students as measured by state and local assessments.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES- Plan challenging and engaging lessons and curriculum that align with the school's mission and vision, and help students meet high academic expectations
- Engage in coaching partnerships with classroom teachers during cycles.
- Plan, model, and co‑teach whole‑group and small‑group lessons.
- Serve as a building resource and a leader in improving student literacy achievement
- Be a reflective practitioner, open to continuous learning
- Empower students to be self‑directed in establishing a positive culture and climate
- Engage in school improvement planning
- Actively engage in an organizational culture that relentlessly pursues excellence
- Work and plan collaboratively
- Attend meetings and training, and prepare forms, records, and reports as necessary.
- Utilizes a variety of instructional skills and methods; varies instructional modes to accommodate student needs, interests, learning style, and ability levels; provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students.
- Maintains school standards of pupil behavior required to provide an orderly and productive environment, in cooperation with the school administration.
- Assess each student's progress, prepare, document, and communicate progress reports to students, parents, and school administration.
- Other duties as assigned.
