Permit Teacher – Early Head Start
The position of permit teacher – early head start is under general supervision and plans and participates in the care, instruction, and supervision of children in a head start infant/toddler program; assists in the day-to-day operation of the center; and performs other job-related duties as required, i.e., parent involvement. This position is categorically funded.
Requirements / QualificationsExperience relevant to the above duties will be considered when making the selection decision.
Education:
bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is required. A bachelor degree in early childhood education or closely related field is preferred. Also must have six semester units in an infant/toddler course. Certificates/credentials/licenses: possession of a valid california children's center/child development permit authorizing instruction in a child development center program and infant/toddler (refer to commission on teacher credentialing pamphlet for child development teacher permit) valid california driver's license.
You must provide copies of permit/credential as required for position or provide evidence of qualifying for required permit/credential with your application materials to qualify for the position.

- Copy of transcript (copy of legible transcripts must be attached to your application. Transcripts must show completion of 6 infant/toddler units. Must attach transcripts showing grades earned.)
- Credential copy (possession of a valid california children's center/child development permit authorizing instruction in a child development center program and infant/toddler)
- Letter of introduction (letter must be specific to the position for which you are applying)
- Letter(s) of recommendation (two (2) letters of recommendation are required and must be signed by the author. The signature block must include the author's name and title/relationship to the applicant. Letters must be dated within the last 2 years prior to the position closing date. Letters without author's signature, name and title/relationship to the applicant and letters without a date or dated more than 2 years prior to the position closing date will not be accepted.
