DescriptionThe Dean of Student Affairs is responsible for providing vision, leadership and strategic direction for student affairs at the assigned Spartan Campus and for ensuring the delivery of effective and quality service to students in the following areas: career services, placement files & records, advising, employer relationships, program advisory meetings, student conduct, student life programs and disability services. This is done through creating policies, programs and services that support the school's mission, meet the needs of a diverse campus population, foster student development and promote involvement on campus.
This position provides advice and counsel to the President and other Executive Committee members regarding overall student morale and serves as the primary advocate for the assigned campus student body.
- Promote strategies and programs designed to positively impact student persistence and increase student satisfaction at the school
- Assure access protocols and services in support of student counseling needs are in place and appropriately communicated, this includes maintaining a comprehensive list of referral resources and appropriate intervention mechanisms/programs
- Establish and develop an effective health services and education referral program
- Administer and supervise compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, ADA and institutional student grievance processes and procedures
- Prepare and manage the Student Affairs Department budget
- Create and coordinate department publications such as the Student Handbook and the Campus Crime Report with CRC Compliance Office
- Provide first line contact and problem resolution for parents, students, and others
- Develop and implement a student judicial system; serve as Chief Conduct Officer of the College (includes coordination and supervision of due process procedures as they relate to student behavior and discipline)
- Develop short and long-range vision for the department and lead department staff in the implementation of plans. Assure that a variety of student life opportunities are offered to all students
- Supervise the Career/Student Services employees and assist in the enhancement of this service to students at the College
- Achieve campus goals specific to Career Services placement
- Plan and coordinate orientation, commencement, and other ceremonies for the campus
- Administer the peer-tutoring program through Federal Work Study. Coordinate services with the faculty, financial aid and the Dean of Academic Affairs and Operations
- Ensure timely updating, publishing and distribution of the Student Handbook, Campus Security Report, Drug Free Schools and Communities information and other student consumer information documents
- Supervise the Career Services/Student Services employees and put in place systems to ensure that all student files are complete and in compliance throughout the student life cycle
- Other duties as assigned by Campus President

Education and Work Experience
- High School diploma or GED Required
- Bachelor's degree required – accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency
- Master's degree preferred
- 3+ years Career Services, Registration Services, or Student Affairs experience at the postsecondary level
- 3+ years of Leadership experience required
- Experience with a for-profit college preferred
- Experience with Campus Vue software or similar student information system software
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state and accreditation regulations applicable to the proprietary education industry
