DescriptionThe Campus Director develops, assesses, and improves the quality of campus operations and is responsible for providing vision and leadership at the assigned Spartan campus(es). This role is a strategic leader who leverages both non-instructional and student-facing services to maximize student success and institutional effectiveness. The Campus Director holds dual accountability: (1) overall campus operations, finances, facilities, and staff management in partnership with the Campus President;
and (2) direct oversight of all student affairs functions, including career services, academic records, student conduct, student life, disability services, and counseling referrals.
The Campus Director serves as the primary advocate for the student body, advises the Campus President and executive leadership on student morale and satisfaction, and ensures the delivery of high-quality, mission-aligned services across all departments. The reputation and success of the campus is the direct responsibility of the Campus Director.
Essential FunctionsCampus Operations and Strategic Leadership
- Develop, assess, and continuously improve the quality of all campus operations, programs, and services.
- Collaborate with the Campus President to create the campus annual operating plan; identify areas where cross-departmental assistance is necessary or appropriate.
- Assist the Campus President in evaluating staffing levels, divisions of responsibility, and organizational structure.
- Assist the Campus President in preparing and managing campus budgets; prepare and manage the Student Affairs department budget.
- Participate in Spartan and system-wide meetings as directed to gather information and provide perspective on institutional planning and compliance matters.
- Promote a positive image and attitude among campus staff toward operating objectives established by Spartan College and SEG leadership.
- Encourage cross-campus representation and collaboration as appropriate.
Student Affairs Leadership
- Provide vision, strategic direction, and operational oversight for all student affairs functions including career services, academic records, student conduct, student life programs, counseling referrals, and disability services.
- Develop short- and long-range plans for the Student Affairs department and lead staff in their implementation; ensure that a variety of student life opportunities are offered to all students.
- Serve as the primary advocate for the campus student body; advise the Campus President and executive leadership on student morale, satisfaction, and overall student experience.
- Promote strategies and programs designed to positively impact student persistence and increase student satisfaction.
- Establish and develop an effective health services and education referral program; maintain a comprehensive list of referral resources and appropriate intervention mechanisms/programs.
- Provide first line contact and problem resolution for parents, students, and others.
Student Conduct and Compliance
- Administer and supervise compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and institutional student grievance processes and procedures.
- Develop and implement the student judicial system; serve as Chief Conduct Officer of the College, including coordination and supervision of due process procedures related to student behavior and discipline.
- Put in place systems to ensure that all student files are complete and in compliance throughout the student life cycle.
- Ensure timely updating, publishing, and distribution of the Student Handbook, Campus Security Report, Drug Free Schools and Communities information, New Student Technical Orientation, and other required student consumer information documents.
- Coordinate department publications such as the Course Catalog, Student Handbook, and Campus Crime Report in partnership with the Compliance Officer.
Career Services and Student Success
- Supervise Career Services, Student Services, and Testing Center employees; assist in the enhancement of services to students.
- Achieve campus goals specific to Career Services placement rates and student satisfaction outcomes.
- Administer the peer-tutoring program through Federal Work Study; coordinate services with faculty, financial aid, and the Dean of Academic Affairs and Operations.
- In partnership with Admissions, plan and coordinate orientation, commencement, and other student recognition ceremonies for the campus.
Registration, Records, and Testing
- Supervise Registration Services employees; put in place systems to ensure that all student files are complete and compliant throughout the student lifecycle.
- Serve as the PSI (FAA) Test Center Supervisor; work with the testing proctor to ensure adherence to PSI compliance requirements.
