POSITION
DESCRIPTION:
The Mentor/Coach plays a critical role in ensuring student success by providing job‑embedded and ongoing professional development for teachers. Under the direct supervision of the Early Education Director, the Mentor/Coach will support the teaching staff of the Early Education Programs and assist classroom staff in meeting educational services as required by Head Start Performance Standards, the California Department of Education, and Community Care Licensing.
Mentor/Coach will serve as an Education/Curriculum Specialist and trainer of trainers in their respective area. This is a certificated Management position and part of the Management Leadership Team.
- Minimum two (2) years of successful teaching experience in a child development/child‑care center program.
- Minimum one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience in a child development/child‑care center that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this position.
- Verified experience required for permit/credential.
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or a related field from an accredited college/university.
- Possession of a valid California Child Development Site Supervisor Permit and a valid California Driver’s License.
- U.S. citizenship or lawful U.S. residence required.
- Minimum age of 18; or 16 with a work permit, high school diploma, or certificate of proficiency.
- Health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance for eligible positions (20+ hours/week) with coverage for dependents.
