School Psychologist, Special Education

The job of school psychologist, special education, is for the purpose(s) of performing a wide variety of psychological services for Riverside County school district-operated programs; assessing students' intellectual and functional levels; developing behavior plans; providing information on child development issues to school personnel and parents; collaborating with community agencies regarding individual student plans; providing recommendations for program development and student placement;

and performing other related duties as assigned. This is designated as a certificated management position and is part of the Management Leadership Team.

Experience:

A minimum of one (1) year of recent responsible psychologist experience with school-age children is required, and experience with mentally, emotionally, and physically handicapped students is highly desirable. Special Education teaching experience preferred.

Education:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is required and two (2) years of post-baccalaureate degree preparation from an accredited college/university specializing in school psychology, including a practicum. Master's degree desirable. Certificates/Credentials/Licenses:
Possession of or ability to obtain prior to employment, a valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential authorizing school psychology services. Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California Administrative Services Credential is highly desirable. Valid California Driver's License. You must provide copies of permit/credential as required for position or provide evidence of qualifying for required permit/credential with your application materials to qualify for the position.

The signature block must include the author's name and title/relationship to the applicant. Letters must be dated within the last 2 years prior to the position closing date. Letters without author's signature, name and title/relationship to the applicant and letters without a date or dated more than 2 years prior to the position closing date will not be accepted.
