Job Summary

The Program Coordinator works closely with the Honors Director and Provost’s Office in planning, developing, maintaining, and evaluating the Honors Programs.

Required Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage, maintain and direct academic monitoring and tracking of students, to include, but not limited to academic progress, grade checks, etc.
  • Maintain a current and comprehensive knowledge of academic curricula for the Honors Program and General Education Program and be familiar with all programs in the academic departments of all schools.
  • Update and revise the curriculum sheets for Honors.
  • Oversee all Honors student workers.
  • Assist in record keeping and tracking the financial resources of the Honors Program.
  • Research and prepare reports for projects related to Honor student success.
  • Direct the maintenance of databases of student information, program participation, and student progress.
  • Support recruiting to the Honors Program.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned, including the support of social and academic co-curricular activities.
  • Process administrative forms, such as contracts and academic variance petitions
  • Provide registration overrides to students based on approvals by the Provost
Qualifications

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.

A.) from a four-year college or university, with three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional experience in lieu of education.

Language Ability

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with other departments and programs on campus. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the campus community of program success.

Math Ability

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to prepare and maintain reports and records.

Computer Skills

Ability to operate a personal computer and associated software.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises student employees.

Wage Range
