Overview
At Tutor Me Education, we connect passionate educators with neurodivergent students for high-impact, 1:1 in-home tutoring. As an In-Home Special Education Tutor, you'll deliver personalized academic instruction, socio-emotional support, and patient behavioral guidance aligned to each student's learning style and IEP goals — in the student’s home. This is a flexible, part-time W-2 employee role. Start with one student (2-10 hrs/week) and take on additional students to grow hours and income.
Pay: $25-$35+ per hour, based on credentials, specialization, and the needs of the student. Higher rates apply for credentialed or specialized tutors, higher-need cases, and bilingual matches.
Hours and
Location:
2-10 hrs/week to start, in-home across California. Room to grow.
- Lead engaging 1:1 sessions tailored to students with diverse learning needs
- Implement creative lesson plans aligned to each student s IEP goals (resources and support provided)
- Adapt academic materials to each student s learning profile
- Track progress after each session and maintain open, empathetic communication with parents/guardians
- Foster a safe, inclusive environment that builds confidence and resilience
- AA, BA, or higher (Special Education, Psychology, or Education preferred)
- Hands-on experience supporting students with special needs or learning differences (e.g., ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia) — currently enrolled college students with this experience are encouraged to apply
- Empathy, patience, and a student-first approach
- Reliable vehicle for local travel to client homes
- Ability to pass a background check
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a strong plus — premium rates available for bilingual matches
- AA, BA, or higher (Special Education, Psychology, or Education preferred)
- Hands-on experience supporting students with special needs or learning differences (e.g., ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia) — currently enrolled college students with this experience are encouraged to apply
- Able to commit to a student for the full school year; consistency is central to IEP progress
- Empathy, patience, and a student-first approach
- Reliable vehicle for local travel to client homes
