Bring your expertise as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in a dynamic educational environment. In this role, you'll empower learners with hearing differences by providing tailored instruction, advocacy, and fostering an inclusive classroom experience. Working within a dedicated team of professionals, you’ll help students thrive academically and socially while ensuring equitable access to curriculum and extracurriculars.

Qualifications and

Experience:

  • Valid teaching credential with Deaf/Hard of Hearing authorization
  • Prior experience teaching or supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Strong knowledge of Deaf culture, language development, and communication modalities (e.g., ASL, auditory-oral, total communication)
  • Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, families, interpreters, and related service providers
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, individually or in small groups
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and communication preferences
  • Monitor progress and participate in IEP meetings, developing measurable goals aligned with students’ strengths
  • Consult and collaborate with school staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion in all school activities
  • Offer resources, guidance, and advocacy for students and families
  • Maintain thorough records and documentation as required by state and federal guidelines
