OVERVIEW California Baptist University is seeking an International Student Advisor to support compliance and advising services for F-1 visa holders. This role focuses on maintaining accurate SEVIS records, providing student guidance on immigration processes, and supporting university compliance with federal regulations. The position also contributes to international student success through outreach, advising, and programming that supports a globally engaged campus environment.

Key

responsibilities
  • Support institutional and student compliance with federal regulations governing F-1 visa holders
  • Maintain the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) in accordance with ICE and SEVP
Requirements
  • Provide guidance regarding immigration benefits and processes administered by USCIS
  • Advise students on Optional Practical Training (OPT) and STEM OPT extensions
  • Maintain accurate F-1 student records and SEVIS data
  • Provide guidance to students and university personnel on established immigration policies and procedures
  • Contribute to international student success through advising, outreach, and programming
  • Support a compliant and globally engaged campus environment
Requirements
  • Knowledge of federal regulations governing F-1 visa holders
  • Ability to maintain accurate SEVIS records and student data
  • Understanding of immigration processes administered by USCIS
  • Familiarity with OPT and STEM OPT processes
  • Ability to provide student guidance on immigration policies and procedures
