Instructional Specialist, Special Education
The job of instructional specialist, special education, is for the purpose of improving instructional practices to promote student learning and success; providing leadership in program support, planning and monitoring of special education programs; providing mentoring, coaching resources and professional development to special education staff in RCOE programs, facilitating maintenance of a safe positive school environment; coordinating school activities; communicating information to staff;
and performing other related duties as assigned. This is designated as a certificated management position and is part of the management leadership team.
Experience:
A minimum of three years of successful teaching or services experience in special education. Preferred administrative or supervisory experience which would demonstrate exposure to and utilization of required skills, knowledge, and abilities in performing job-related duties and responsibilities.
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is required. Master's degree desirable. Certificates/credentials/licenses:
Possession of a valid California Multiple Subject, Single Subject or Education Specialist Credential and California Administrative Credential appropriate for K-12 public school administration required. Internship eligibility for Administrative Services Credential will be considered with verification from approved College or University. Valid California Driver's License. You must provide copies of credentials as required for the position with your application materials.

- Letter(s) of recommendation (two (2) letters of recommendation are required and must be signed by the author. The signature block must include the author's name and title/relationship to the applicant. Letters must be dated within the last 2 years prior to the position closing date. Letters without author's signature, name and title/relationship to the applicant and letters without a date or dated more than 2 years prior to the position closing date will not be accepted.
