Riverside City College is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor of Ethnic Studies for one year. The successful candidate will teach Ethnic Studies courses and contribute to curriculum development and program planning in collaboration with multidisciplinary faculty. Teaching assignments may include early morning, day, evening, online, hybrid, and/or off-campus classes.

The ideal candidate will support RCC’s commitment to educating a racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse student population and to social and racial justice through decolonial and anti-racist pedagogies. • Master's in Ethnic Studies or a related field (as listed below).
• OR a master’s in American Studies/Ethnicity, Latino Studies, La Raza Studies, Central American Studies, Latin American Studies, Cross Cultural Studies, Race and Ethnic Relations, Asian American Studies, or African American Studies, or the equivalent.
  All degrees and units used to satisfy minimum qualifications shall be from accredited institutions.

• Recent evidence of working with racially/ethnically minoritized students in the classroom and understanding how historical patterns shape their participation and outcomes in higher education.
• Willingness to examine and remediate instructional, relational, and classroom practices to support diverse groups of minoritized students.
• Demonstrated teaching excellence in Ethnic Studies with the ability to develop and teach courses in African American/Black Studies, Asian American and Pacific Islander Studies, Chicanx/Latinx Studies, Native American and Indigenous Studies, Comparative Ethnic Studies, critical race theory, decolonization, anti-racism, intersectionality, and related topics.
• Use of Ethnic Studies inquiry methods, including intersectionality, decolonizing methodology, transdisciplinary approaches, and social justice practices.
• Experience or interest in building Ethnic Studies curriculum and programming.
• Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines to design, revise, and implement curriculum and advance Ethnic Studies at the college and district level.
• Commitment to educating a diverse student population with broad Ethnic Studies offerings.
• Commitment to maintaining professional ethics and a high standard of professional conduct.
