Substitute Teacher

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs seeks a Permanent Substitute Teacher to support K-12 students with autism, emotional/behavioral needs, and other disabilities in specialized classrooms. In this role, you provide daily instruction, implement IEP goals, follow established behavior support plans, and maintain a structured, safe learning environment when classroom teachers are absent. You will collaborate closely with special education teachers, therapists, and support staff, use data to track student progress, communicate with families and districts, and participate in ongoing training to build your skills in special education and behavior management.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily classroom instruction for K-12 special education students when the teacher is absent
• Implement lesson plans, IEP goals, and accommodations as directed
• Follow and reinforce behavior intervention and support plans
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment
• Collect and report data on student performance and behavior
• Collaborate with special education teachers, therapists, and aides
• Adapt instructional materials to meet diverse learning needs
• Support communication with families and school districts as needed
• Participate in training and professional development activities
• Uphold school policies, documentation requirements, and compliance standards
