Job Description Under the direction of the Dean of Counseling and Rising Scholars Program Staff, the Student Program Assistant will assist staff with calling Rising Scholar students, participating in presentations, help create flyers, and assist with counseling-related events.

Basic Function:
Performs a variety of duties requiring advanced knowledge of subject in support of administrative or academic projects or functions. Requires knowledge of how program/work unit function and fit into the District or College programs. Gathers, integrates and interprets information.

Education:

Must have completed at least 12 units.

Experience:

Ability to learn MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint.
Must be in good academic standing.

• Assist classified staff of the Rising Scholars program in a variety of skilled duties in support of administrative and academic projects.
• Assist with clerical duties that require some specialized skill.
• Serve as a student peer leader, mentor, and campus resource to Rising Scholar students by answering basic questions and referring students to other programs for support.
• Assist in reaching out and supporting students via phone, email, or Zoom.
• Assist with scheduling counseling appointments.
• Help conducting inventory for the program.

• Jobs only available to Moreno Valley Students who have Moreno Valley College as their Home Campus.
• Must be enrolled in at least half-time units (6 units for Fall and Spring and 3 units for Winter and Summer).
• Must maintain a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0.
• IF funded by Federal Work Study (FWS) Grant or Cal Works Work Study (CWS) grant, students must maintain eligibility for the FWS grant to maintain the position.
