Accountable Healthcare Staffing seeks a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher to deliver specialized instruction and support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing across diverse educational settings. In this role, you will use ASL, visual strategies, and evidence-based deaf education practices to promote language development, literacy, and academic success. You will lead IEP development, collaborate with families, audiologists, and general education staff, and ensure effective use of hearing technology and accessible materials.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instruction to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students using ASL, spoken language, and visual strategies as appropriate
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Adapt curriculum and materials to ensure language access and alignment with state standards
  • Coordinate with audiologists and related service providers to support use and maintenance of hearing technology
  • Assess student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and report outcomes to stakeholders
  • Coach and consult with general education teachers on effective accommodations and inclusive practices
  • Engage and educate families to support communication and learning at home
  • Utilize digital platforms to deliver instruction, document services, and communicate with teams
  • Participate in professional development to stay current in deaf education best practices
  • Support a culture of respect, inclusion, and clinical excellence consistent with Accountable Healthcare Staffing values
