Americorps Member, Education ​/ Teaching

As a City Year Ameri Corps Member, you will serve full-time in a partnering public school, helping students build academic, social, and emotional skills. Working on a diverse team, you'll provide small-group tutoring, in-class support, and mentoring to promote attendance, engagement, and achievement. You'll collaborate with teachers and staff, support after-school programs, and use data to monitor student progress. City Year offers training, coaching, and a collaborative, inclusive culture focused on social justice, youth development, and your own leadership and career growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide small-group and one-on-one academic support in core subjects
• Build positive relationships with students to promote engagement and attendance
• Support classroom activities and teachers during lessons
• Lead or assist with after-school programs and enrichment activities
• Track and report student progress using basic data tools
• Collaborate with a diverse Ameri
• Corps team and school staff
• Participate in ongoing training, reflection, and professional development
• Model positive behavior and a commitment to equity and social justice
