Position Information

A unit within the portfolio of the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, Chicano Student Programs (CSP) is an essential department that provides academic support services, mentoring/leadership development, co-and extra-curricular programming, K-14 outreach and non-academic counseling among other things, for all UC Riverside students with an emphasis on Chicano Latino scholars. In collaboration with the Director & Assistant Director, the program coordinator develops, plans, implements and evaluates programs, services, initiatives and activities for Chicano Student Programs (CSP).

The Program Coordinator is responsible to plan, implement, market and evaluate cultural and education programs related to Chicano Latino students; coordinate outreach efforts targeted to K-12 and community college students; coordinate cross cultural programs with other campus departments; provide support and assistance to Chicano Latino student organizations; assist in recruitment, training and supervision of peer mentors with a focus on mentorship to Chicano/Latino students at large;

and act as an advocate for student concerns. The incumbent independently analyzes campus wide needs to develop a programmatic response, serving as a subject matter expert pertaining to Chicano/Latino undergraduate and graduate student success. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for the student intern selection process, supervision, training and day-to-day work flow management for the interns, mentor volunteers and delegates.

The full salary range for the Program Coordinator, (005152) is $58,800 - $101,220 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $64,102 annually. We base placement within these ranges based on the individual's qualifications as they relate to this position.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
