KeyQualifications:
- Valid, active state teaching credential with appropriate endorsement for teaching students with visual impairments
- Proven experience working with K-12 students who are visually impaired, including developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Strong ability to modify curriculum and classroom materials for accessibility
- Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with staff, families, and related service providers
- Commitment to fostering independence and inclusion for all students
- Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments in the classroom and one-on-one settings
- Adapt or create learning materials using Braille, large print, or other accessible formats
- Conduct functional vision assessments and contribute insights to multidisciplinary IEP teams
- Consult regularly with general education teachers and support staff to ensure accessibility and student success
- Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain best practices in vision services
- Partner with families to support learning goals and adaptive strategies
