About being our Office Land Surveyor IAs our Office Land Surveyor I, you'll work on diverse and exciting projects across California, including large transportation, passenger rail, energy, and private development initiatives. You'll be part of a skilled and supportive team, fostering mentorship and skill development at all levels.
Responsibility Highlights for our Office Land Surveyor I- Support the technical work of other surveyors, CAD drafters, coordinate with engineers, subcontractors and agencies for final drawings, submittals, and specifications for approval.
- Support all aspects of land surveying, which may include research & analysis, title reports, right of way engineering, ALTA surveys, design surveys, topography, photogrammetry, LiDAR, Point Cloud processing, boundaries and mapping, construction staking, and preparing legal descriptions exhibits, R/W plan sheets and records of surveys.
- Organize and coordinate projects which include a broad range of assignments requiring knowledge of surveying/mapping/construction.
- Understand the client's goals, business, and how to build effective client relationships; clients may include surveyors, engineers, public agencies, law firms, commercial builders, private developers, architects, or other landowners.
- Maintain and manage file systems together with local and wide network operating systems.
- Draft technical exhibits and final deliverables.
- Assist and support Project Surveyor daily.
- Prepare RFI's, reports, and schedules.
- Research and analyze boundary elements for retracement.
- Perform survey calculations, analysis, and field support calculations.
- Work to be performed in an office environment.
- 2-5 years of surveying experience or BS degree in Geomatics or related field.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Proficient in CADD.
- Experience with one or more of the following programs:
Carlson, Trimble TBC, Micro Station, InRoads. - Public mapping experience (subdivision maps, parcel maps, record of survey maps, legal description, and exhibits, etc.).
- Topographic design mapping.
- Experience in AutoCAD/Civil3D.
- Experience reading and interpreting deeds.

- The expected range for this position is $25-$30/hour depending on experience.
