Position Overview
The Toro Company is hiring a Sourcing Manager for its Riverside, CA location. The Sourcing Manager will manage integrated sourcing throughout new product and part development, collaborating with Marketing, Design Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME), Commodity Managers, Plant Sourcing, and Manufacturing.
Location & ScheduleRiverside, CA 92504. Hybrid work model:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday in the office;
Wednesday and Friday optional remote. Must be comfortable working 5 days on site if needed.
- Identify and maintain current knowledge of approved supplier capabilities, technologies, and processes.
- Research new technologies, materials, and suppliers for new product development and existing production.
- Serve as an internal resource on supplier new products, capabilities, technologies, and sourcing processes.
- Participate in all phases of New Product Development (NPD) to ensure cross‑functional objectives.
- Participate in new product/part design and change‑order reviews, coordinating supplier participation.
- Provide standard costing assistance to NPD project teams and product‑management personnel.
- Monitor production sourcing to assure part availability, manage shortages, contractual obligations, and sourcing strategies.
- Identify new outsourcing or in sourcing opportunities as part of Make‑vs‑Buy decisions.
- Assist in pre‑production pilot runs, new product startup, and supplier assessment and qualification processes.
- Assist in monitoring outsourced tools and work independently or as part of a team.
- Bilingual – excellent oral and written communication in English and Spanish.
- Bachelor’s of Science in supply chain management, economics, finance, operations, engineering, business, accounting, manufacturing, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of supply‑chain experience; sourcing of technical and mechanical parts or related components.
- Experience supporting electronics or technology NPD projects.
- Strong project‑management skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and team‑leadership skills.
- Demonstrated negotiation and analytical abilities.
- High‑level PC skills with enterprise purchasing and planning systems (SAP).
- Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Will travel within North America approximately 20% of the time.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship provided.
- Prior industry experience in irrigation and lighting, particularly within Toro Irrigation.
- Experience with Power BI, SAP, and/or a quality emphasis.
- Competitive salary: $122,000‑$150,000.
