Early Career Mechanical Engineer – Riverside, CA
Be involved in projects with our Property & Buildings Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients’ objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact- Provide entry‑level technical assistance in the design and development of mechanical systems for building and infrastructure projects.
- Assist with HVAC system design including air distribution, hydronic systems, and temperature controls.
- Support the preparation of construction documents, specifications, and technical reports.
- Collect, compile, and analyze engineering data from drawings, schematics, and field observations to support project development.
- Assist in conducting research and site inspections to evaluate existing conditions and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Perform routine engineering calculations (e.g., load calculations) under supervision.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, structural, and architectural professionals.
- Ensure work is delivered in alignment with WSP quality, safety, and performance standards.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
- 0–1 years of relevant internship or professional experience.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and building systems (HVAC, controls, plumbing).
- Familiarity with engineering design tools such as AutoCAD or Revit.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Internship or co‑op experience in consulting engineering or building design.
- Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain.
- Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (ASHRAE, IECC, local building codes).
- Interest in markets such as healthcare, commercial, higher education, or science & technology.

CompensationExpected Salary: $68,200–$93,800.
