Full salary range for the Building Controls Engineer position is $ - $ annually, with expected pay up to $ annually. Base salary offers consider education, licensure, certifications, experience, and business needs.
Position OverviewMember of the UCR Facilities Services (FS), Energy & Utility Management team, responsible for maintaining building management/automation control system (BMS) functionality in coordination with Operations staff.
Responsibilities- BMS commissioning and retro-commissioning for new and existing campus buildings.
- Review plans, specifications, requisitions, and multi‑craft estimated projects to ensure compliance with campus standards.
- Use test equipment to troubleshoot, maintain, and perform repairs to field control interfaces and pneumatic control systems.
- Maintain relationships with service contractors, perform inspections, and oversee repairs of building management/automation systems, software, communication networks, and databases.
- Review and optimize HVAC sequence of operations to identify and implement campus-wide energy and sustainability initiatives and goals.
- Provide support, documentation, and training to Maintenance and Operations staff regarding BMS functionality and implementation.
- Work independently, exercising professional judgement and providing recommendations to FS Leadership and other campus personnel.
- Strong technical background in electrical and mechanical engineering systems.
- Project management skills and processes.
- Current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position.
