Civil Traffic Engineer

$122,000 - $155,000 per year | Riverside, CA | On‑Site | Permanent

WANTED:
Experienced Principal Traffic Engineer (Civil Projects | Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer | TE)

Senior leadership role responsible for managing traffic engineering projects, supervising technical staff, and serving as a key client‑facing leader on public and private sector projects throughout the Inland Empire. This role blends technical authority, project management, and people leadership.

Job Details Required Credentials (Hard Requirements)
  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • California Professional Civil Engineer (PE)
  • California Traffic Engineer (TE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months
Experience Profile
  • 8+ years with a degree or 12–15 years equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum 3 years of people management experience
  • Supervise and mentor technical/design staff
  • Make independent engineering and business decisions
  • Lead multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Strong client‑facing presence with public agencies
Managerial Responsibilities Management of
  • Construction documents and contracts
  • Project schedules and budgets
  • Design and support staff
Preparation of
  • Contracts
  • Fee proposals
  • Scopes of work
Extensive Interaction with
  • Public agencies
  • Municipal staff
  • Internal cross‑functional teams
Working knowledge of
  • California jurisdictional codes, standards, and procedures (strongly preferred)
