Compensation for this position is expected to range between $19.00 and $22.00 per hour
, in alignment with what California Baptist University (CBU) reasonably anticipates paying for this role. The final rate may vary depending on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and prevailing market conditions. The Coordinator of Signature Events is responsible for helping achieve the University Advancement mission by providing overall logistical and administrative support to the Associate Director of Signature Events for an array of events. The role may include managing and communicating event planning timelines, day of logistics, creative assistance, tracking budgets, and creating event layouts.
Responsibilities- Assist the Associate Director of Signature Events with all event functions.
- Gather and confirm event details prior to the event day.
- Work with “Client” (event host) on event-related functions.
- Coordinate and confirm vendor details, logistics, and compliance.
- Data entry and organization of event logistics.
- Support the creative production of events.
- Maintain and assist with volunteer contacts and communication.
- Provide on-site assistance with audio‑visual, campus information, catering, safety, etc., and assist as liaison for event organizer(s) with on‑campus departments.
- Establish and implement short and long‑range organizational goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures regarding university alumni affinity groups.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of alumni events and University Advancement marquee events (Parent and Family Weekend, Homecoming, and Grandparents Day).
- Coordinate Planning Committees for marquee events.
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating the operational effectiveness of events and effect changes required for improvement.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

- Ability to assist with the planning of multiple events simultaneously while maintaining a high level of organization and composure.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including but not limited to early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk, sit; and make frequent trips up and down flights of stairs. Job functions also require sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard or other office equipment. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment, with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards.
Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
