Overview
Under the direction of the Senior Director of Finance & Business Operations (SDFBO), the Senior Finance & Budget Operations Analyst serves as a highly influential and productive member of the Administrative Services and Strategic Executive Team (ASSET), supporting the Organizations of the Chancellor and the Provost & Executive Vice Chancellor. The Senior Analyst provides expert-level support to the management of ASSET in the business and financial operations by performing a wide range of financial and analytical duties, including annual planning and budget process, financial management, and monthly and ad hoc reporting and analysis, and special projects.
The Senior Analyst may provide financial and analytical support for other ASSET-supported divisions/departments. The analyst independently performs moderate to complex budgetary/financial analysis and reporting such as multi-year planning, rate sustainability and feasibility, advises on cost containment measures, review annual costing reports, performs reconciliations and develops/prepares reports on overall resource management.
- Review transactions requiring organizational-level approval.
- Perform complex budgetary/financial analysis and reporting, and prepare executive-level communications and reports for multiple departments.
- Provide financial and analytical support for ASSET-supported divisions/departments as needed.
- Support organizational-level activities for the annual planning and budget process, financial management, and monthly and ad hoc reporting and analysis, and special projects.
- Conduct research, monitor trends and deficit analysis, track and generate monthly executive-level summaries, and report to constituents (e.g., UCOP, department heads, organization heads, campus budget office) across multiple core and non-core funding streams.
- Applicants must have current work authorization to accept a UCR staff position; we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for staff.
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and reporting skills; experience with multi-year planning, rate sustainability, and cost containment.
- Ability to interact with senior leadership and prepare high-level communications.
