Financial Management Analyst
University of California, Riverside – Riverside, CA
Full‑time | Salary: $75,900 – $137,300 per year | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

- Provide analytical support for complex budget, financial, and resource analysis projects, including review of proposed personnel actions.
- Ensure accuracy and reasonableness of financial data submitted by units; prepare and present financial reports and recommendations to management.
- Deliver primary department‑level financial and analytical support to assigned units, monitoring active capital project spending and coordination with central accounting.
- Prepare and coordinate capital project closeouts, including reconciliation between Oracle and project management ERP systems, and reporting to UCOP.
- Perform monthly ledger reconciliations and manage necessary accounting entries, encumbrances, and travel/payment approvals.
- Coordinate and implement department budget allocations, maintain the chart of accounts, and produce comprehensive monthly financial performance reports.
- Develop and present annual budgets, recharge rates, and cost methodologies in line with campus budget processes.
- Gather and analyze information for financial and resource planning, including trended requirements and operating forecasts.
- Conduct complex financial or resource research, design summary and detail reports, and support projects, initiatives, and audit requests.
- Apply professional accounting concepts to capital projects and ensure compliance with internal controls and university policies.
- Support business process improvement, system implementation, documentation, and workflow optimization across units served by ASSET.
- Provide training and guidance to staff and unit transactors, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Maintain documentation of financial procedures, internal controls, and standard operating processes.
- Ensure compliance with SAS 112 requirements, internal controls, university policies, and donor/funding agency guidelines.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field, or equivalent experience and training.
- Upper‑level accounting coursework.
- Minimum 4–7 years of progressive experience in financial analysis and budgeting.
- Proficiency with spreadsheet and database software for complex financial analysis.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a service orientation and critical‑thinking ability.
- Excellent organizational skills to multi‑task in a high‑volume environment.
- Knowledge of finance policies, practices, and internal control systems.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and gather required information independently.
- Proficiency in preparing financial statements, reconciliations, and reporting tools.
