Must be LMFT or LCSW or licensed as a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Clinical Social Worker as issued by the California State Board of Behavioral Sciences.
The Franklin Residential Care Facility & Behavioral Health Clinic is an 84-bed adult residential facility and outpatient clinic providing behavioral health services and short-term recuperative care to adults with severe behavioral health needs. The Behavioral Health Services Supervisor will provide oversight and guidance to direct care staff, offer crisis intervention and support as needed, role model professional behavior, and foster strong on-site presence.
The role includes collaboration with MFI/Contractors in operating the facility, and may require some driving; a California Driver’s License is required. The schedule is 9/80 from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm.
- Plan, assign, direct, supervise, and coordinate the work of a multidisciplinary staff providing behavioral health treatment services, social and rehabilitation services, and education to consumers, public and private agencies, and the community.
- Evaluate unit activities and methods for effectiveness and alignment with program goals; recommend and implement changes in programs, policies, and procedures as needed.
- Evaluate personnel performance and make hiring recommendations; interview and select new staff as appropriate.
- Provide guidance on departmental philosophy, goals, and policies through casework conferences, staff meetings, and work reviews; assist in developing in-service training and staff development programs.
- Make or review decisions on difficult consumer assessment and casework matters.
- Collaborate with other public, private, and community organizations to gain cooperation in achieving program goals; participate in behavioral health conferences and local committees; may participate in needs assessment and program planning activities regionally or countywide.
- Assist in preparing annual budget requirements and monitor expenditures to ensure the unit remains within funding provisions; prepare reports on workload statistics, casework, and unit methods.
- Two years of post-licensure professional experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting providing direct client services, including client assessment and evaluation, development and implementation of treatment plans, providing psychotherapy or behavioral health counseling, and indirect services such as information, consultation, and staff/community education.
- Possession of a valid license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) issued by the California State Board of Behavioral Sciences/Examiners.
- For out-of-state recruits, possession of an out-of-state license in one of the approved options and eligibility to obtain the California license within three years of hire; during interim, may be eligible for a Mental Health Professional Licensing Waiver.
- If LPCC is pursued, additional education and training requirements: completion of six semester or nine quarter units focused on marriage and family therapy theory and application; at least 500 hours of supervised experience with couples, families, or children; and a minimum of six hours of continuing education in marriage and family therapy per license renewal cycle.
- Valid California Driver’s License is required.
