Position: Director of Business Solutions (Construction)

Director of Business Solutions (Construction)

Position Location:

Riverside, CA or Phoenix, AZ (based on candidate location)

Responsibilities
  • Understand construction business operations and financial flows.
  • Engage field teams in person to observe and diagnose operational issues.
  • Conduct process discovery, mapping and optimization across material take‑off, estimating, billing, job costing, scheduling, procurement, safety, work orders, and project execution.
  • Develop process maps, identify inefficiencies, harmonize branch workflows, and propose scalable improvements.
  • Collaborate with IT and vendor teams to evaluate, configure and implement construction technology solutions.
  • Translate operational needs into clear business and system requirements, partner with IT during software design, testing, rollout, and ongoing enhancements.
  • Ensure data flows and integrations support efficient operations; assist in configuration, testing, and system validation.
  • Lead or support vendor evaluation, UAT, pilot programs, go‑live activities, and develop training materials.
  • Support post‑implementation adoption and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as liaison between project managers, superintendents, estimators, safety professionals, accounting teams, and IT; facilitate cross‑functional workshops.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools, validate system outputs, and troubleshoot workflow or data issues.
Qualifications
  • Construction

    Experience:

    Minimum 7+ years in construction, including field and back‑office functions, strong ability to analyze workflows and interpret KPIs.
  • Workflow Improvement

    Experience:

    Proven in documenting and optimizing workflows, process mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart, etc.), understanding database concepts and data flow across systems.
  • Implementation Expertise:
    Experience supporting or leading technology implementation projects, skilled in facilitating workshops and managing stakeholders.
  • Technology Knowledge:
    Understanding ERP and construction management platforms, hands‑on experience with Sage 300 CRM/CMS, Procore, Viewpoint, CMiC, Heavy Job, B2W, etc.
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, accounting, information systems or related field.
  • Bona Fide Street Smarts-high EQ.
