Position Information

This position is currently hybrid with a requirement to be onsite once per week or based on departmental need.

The full salary range for the Procurement Analyst 3/Buyer is $68,500 - $121,900 annually. The expected pay scale for this position is $68,500 - $95,200 annually, based on education, licensure, certifications, experience, and other organizational needs.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. The University is currently unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for staff.

As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies, collective bargaining agreements, and any federal, state, or local government directives that may apply.

Key Responsibilities

The Procurement Analyst 3 performs increasingly complex purchasing duties in accordance with prescribed policies, procedures, and instructions in a cost‑effective, ethical, efficient, and timely professional manner within a customer‑service oriented environment.

They conduct formal bids and increasingly complex purchasing negotiations, purchase common goods and services, and custom products/services for complex, difficult, and highly technical transactions valued up to $50,000 or with delegated authority.

The Analyst also assists with orders valued at all dollar levels and above their signature authority, in coordination with or under the specific or general direction. Purchases include a broad spectrum of materials, supplies, equipment, and services across many commodity areas and provide participation in strategic sourcing initiatives.

This purchasing position supports Research, Teaching, and Auxiliary Enterprise functions and works with campus departments to deliver a broad spectrum of materials, supplies, equipment, and services across many commodity areas.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess current work authorization in the United States. The University is not able to provide sponsorship for employment visas.

Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of procurement policies and procedures, experience with complex purchasing negotiations, and the ability to manage a diverse range of commodities.
