Summary
The Career Development Manager leads the team responsible for designing and implementing training programs that align with the organization’s mission and strategic goals. The manager oversees the execution of both technical operational training and long-term professional development programs. By managing departmental operations with a focus on quality and innovation, the Manager ensures all learning pathways measurably enhance job-specific proficiency while empowering staff to reach their full career potential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Directly manages the training team, providing guidance, performance coaching, and professional support.
- Collaborate with department leaders to identify skill gaps within the organization and source or develop curriculum to address them.
- Implement and manage comprehensive career pathing and professional development initiatives, including the Altura Leadership Academy, formal mentorship programs, and targeted growth tracks for all staff levels.
- Direct all departmental administration, including precise scheduling of training sessions, procurement of instructional supplies, and seamless execution of event logistics for large‑scale development workshops.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through data‑driven metrics and feedback loops, enhancing programs based on feedback.
- Research and implement innovative learning programs to maximize knowledge retention and engagement.
Directly supervise the Operations Trainer, Career Development Specialist, and Technical Writer. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with related policies, procedures, applicable state and federal laws and the credit union’s strategic plan.
Education, Experience and Qualifications- High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, instructional design or a related field - preferred.
- 3‑5 years of management experience, preferably in the financial services industry.
- Experience in content creation and facilitation.
