Position Overview

The Warehouse Lead for AMP is a hands‑on, working lead responsible for supporting second‑shift AMP production operations while maintaining strict adherence to safety, quality, and process standards. This role works directly on the shop floor operating and supporting laser cutting systems, inspecting parts, processing work orders, and ensuring smooth end‑of‑shift transitions. The Warehouse Lead for AMP serves as the primary on‑site leader during second shift, ensuring production targets are met, associates follow established processes, and the facility is properly secured at the end of the shift.

This position requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to lead by example while keeping equipment running and customer commitments on track.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a working lead on the shop floor, actively running machines and supporting AMP production activities.
  • Operate equipment as needed, including laser cutting systems, while supporting overall production flow.
  • Process AMP work orders accurately, including proper use of override codes when required.
  • Inspect parts throughout the shift to verify quality, dimensional accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
  • Package finished parts, print and apply tags and labels, and prepare orders for delivery or transfer.
  • Support production continuity by filling in when operators or apprentices are absent to keep machines running.
  • Monitor and support production levels to ensure customer expectations and delivery commitments are met.
  • Follow and enforce all IMS safety policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring PPE is worn at all times.
  • Model and reinforce a "Safety First" mindset on second shift.
  • Maintain a zero‑tolerance approach to working outside of established processes.
  • Verify daily open‑wrench and equipment inspections are completed and document any required repairs.
  • Ensure brokered order inspections are completed as required.
  • Verify quality of parts produced on both flat and tube laser systems throughout the shift.
  • Ensure associates take required breaks and lunches in compliance with policy.
  • Verify accurate punches in and out for all second‑shift associates.
  • Communicate attendance or coverage issues to AMP leadership as needed.
  • Pull and coordinate work orders to transfer material between Riverside Main and AMP as required.
  • Arrange movement of finished parts from AMP to Riverside Main for transfer or delivery.
  • Secure the AMP facility at the end of second shift, including gates, alarms, and shutdown procedures.
  • Ensure all end‑of‑shift processes are completed and the shop is left in a safe, orderly condition.
Training & Certification Requirements

Within the first 6 months:

  • Complete AMP on‑the‑job flat laser operator training.
  • Complete required 1‑week online equipment manufacturer training and pass final certification exam.
  • Complete AMP on‑the‑job part inspection training.
  • Demonstrate ability to read basic manufacturing blueprints.
  • Demonstrate proficiency using precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, angle finders, height gauges, precision rulers, flatness feeler gauges, and granite inspection tables.

Within 18 months:

  • Complete AMP on‑the‑job tube laser operator training.
  • Complete required 1‑week online equipment manufacturer training and pass final certification exam.
  • Achieve dual certification on both flat and tube laser cutting systems.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or metal processing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of production equipment, quality inspection, and work order processing.
  • Ability to lead by example in a hands‑on, fast‑paced production setting.
