Production Supervisor
Job Summary: The Production Supervisor leads a team of skilled production employees through a dynamic, custom-built mixed-model assembly operation, overseeing the flow of commercial transit vehicles from Weld Shop and Paint through Sub-Assemblies, and Final Assembly. This role requires real-time decision making to balance safety, quality, delivery, and productivity while adapting to changing build configurations and customer requirements.
Schedule: Onsite, Monday-Friday.

Hours:
6:00am – 2:30pm.
- Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple production lines, ensuring adherence to production schedules, safety standards, quality requirements, and manufacturing procedures.
- Direct the flow of work through a mixed-model, custom assembly environment, making real-time adjustments to maintain throughput and on-time delivery.
- Supervise production employees with accountability for volume, cost, quality, labor efficiency, and schedule attainment.
- Monitor daily production output, performance to time standards, and key operational KPIs.
- Conduct regular audits of key processes to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and operated safely; initiate corrective actions as needed.
- Partner with the Manager of Production to establish staffing plans and work schedules across production-related departments.
- Maintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation and present to production leadership.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO, and other relevant standards).
- Actively manage team performance through coaching, feedback, and performance reviews.
- Identify employee’s strengths and development areas and create clear growth paths and provide hands on training with partnership with Training Team and Center, and maintain a strong understanding of each team member's strengths and development areas.
- Lead by example, stepping in to support production needs when required.
- Foster a fair, respectful, and positive work environment that promotes teamwork and accountability.
- Ensure consistent communication through daily huddles and transparent sharing of performance metrics (OKR’s).
- Develop and execute action plans to improve labor utilization, productivity, housekeeping, and overall operational efficiency.
- Uphold high standards of safety, quality, and organization, maintaining a clean, disciplined, and professional shop environment.
Required:
- 3-5 years of leadership experience in a high-volume manufacturing site overseeing production lines; commercial vehicle manufacturing preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or six (6) years of experience in lieu of degree (HS diploma or GED required).
- Strong technical understanding of manufacturing and assembly operations including mechanical, electrical, welding and general assembly.
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, or workflow optimization.
- Strong sense of urgency, adaptability, and problem-solving ability.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred:
- Hands on knowledge with buses or heavy-duty vehicle systems (EV, CNG, Diesel, electrical, engines, suspension, fiberglass, etc.)
- Broader technical acumen across paint, electrical, mechanical, and welding operations.

The salary range reflected on the job positing is our good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. While we do not typically hire at the top of the salary range, initial offers are based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience, with opportunities for growth and increases over time.
The hiring range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000/year.
