General Production Painter
This role focuses on preparing and painting leather and composite helmets, performing minor assembly, and ensuring all products meet quality and technical standards. You will work hands‑on in a manufacturing environment, using spray painting equipment, following detailed procedures, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workspace.
Responsibilities- Prepare leather and composite helmets for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and ensuring proper surface preparation according to defined procedures.
- Operate spray guns to apply primer, paint, and protective coatings with correct pattern coverage and finish, meeting specified color, viscosity, and thickness requirements.
- Perform visual and dimensional quality checks on painted helmets to identify defects, verify consistency, and ensure adherence to technical and quality standards.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of appropriate cleaners, materials, and methods for paint application and surface preparation.
- Follow all safety procedures, guidelines, and best practices while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
- Accurately complete all required production and quality control documentation in a timely manner.
- Assist with minor assembly of helmet components by following detailed instructions, parts lists, and specifications.
- Prepare work to be accomplished by reading procedures, parts lists, and work orders, and by gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials needed for each task.
- Follow detailed assembly and production instructions, processes, and procedures to ensure consistent, repeatable results.
- Support organizational goals by performing tasks that align with core values, continuous improvement, and growth plans.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure production targets, quality expectations, and safety standards are met.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support production, painting, and assembly operations.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in painting, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proficiency in spray painting using spray guns, including applying primer, paint, and protective coatings to specified color, viscosity, and thickness.
- Demonstrated experience in painting preparation work, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and surface preparation.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills to follow work orders, procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and a clear understanding of what constitutes a good, high‑quality finished product.
- Ability to use fine motor skills to piece and assemble unique materials and components accurately.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively as part of a production team.
- Willingness to follow Lean manufacturing concepts and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized workspace and consistently follow safety procedures and guidelines.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in general production, general labor, or assembly within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with helmet or similar product assembly processes.
- Exposure to mechanical design concepts, injection molding, or related manufacturing processes.
- Experience with or exposure to design tools such as Solid Works is beneficial.
- Comfort working in a hands‑on role and taking on multiple responsibilities as needed.
