Machine​/Saw Operator

JOB SUMMARY

The Machine Saw Operator safely operates forklifts, side loaders and other industrial equipment to move raw metal materials from inventory to metal‑cutting cells. This is a great opportunity for someone with material handling and entry‑level machine operation experience to learn and become proficient with various saw cutting machines (including plate, band and shear industrial saws).

• Ensures orderly distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies to other cells, and staging finished product for distribution.
• Inspect cut material for accuracy and defects using measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, pin‑gauges, etc.).
• Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.
• Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages.

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
• Basic math and mechanical skills
• Experience with measurement hand tools such as micrometers and calipers
• 1 + years’ experience operating a forklift
• 1 + years' experience working on a saw machine, or other industrial machinery
• 1 + year of experience working in a warehouse, production, distribution or manufacturing environment
• Read, write, and speak in English
• Experience in the metal cutting/distribution industry is a plus
• Ability to lift up-to 50 lbs.
